This is the second part of my interview with Oni and Hark. In this second half we go a bit more in depth on what it takes to create, organize, put on and run a convention. The most important thing I learned is there is not convention running in my future. Man, it is a TON of work. Next con you go to find one of the organizers and buy em a beer. They’ve earned it.
Onezumi and Harknell are the minds behind Intervention and ReGeneration Who. Intervention is a convention for online creators. Part workshop, part social gathering, Intervention gives online creators an opportunity to come together with other independent creators, fans, and innovators to discuss ways to improve and distribute their work. Intervention also give creators a venue to communicate and connect face to face with friends. Intervention highlights both digital and analog artists or every stripe who use the Internet as their primary distribution method, hosting panels, workshops, movie showings, concerts, open gaming, and dance events. At Intervention you can meet, talk with, learn from, and party with the people you see online everyday. Intervention takes place in Rockville Maryland August 14-16, 2015.
Regeneration Who in one of the north east’s hottest Dr Who conventions. With a guest list that includes The Sixth Doctor Colin Baker, The Seventh Doctor Sylvester McCoy, Terry Molloy–Davros, and the inestimable Tom Baker (Via Skype) among many, many other guests, this convention promises to be the Dr Who lover’s dream. ReGeneration Who takes place in Hunt Valley Mayland August 14-16, 2015.
